Dear McLoughlin Families,

Happy Holidays! I hope this letter finds you well. I hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving break. I took the break as an opportunity to reflect and give gratitude for the many things in my life that bring me joy. One of those things is working at McLoughlin Middle School with the wonderful students, staff, and community whom I see every day. The positivity of our kids, the diversity, the energy, and their hopefulness inspire me to work hard on their behalf. Our students deserve the best, and working with the staff and community to provide that for all of our kids is what drives me to keep striving towards excellence.

Along with the Holiday Season comes some time away from school. I encourage you to think of some ways to keep your students engaged in learning and thinking during these breaks. Reading is a great way to keep kids using their brains, and they can check out books from the school library to take home over the break. Explore the iPad with your student and discover some of the learning apps that are available. Have your students spend some time on the IXL website practicing their math skills. The iReady website also offers lessons on math and reading for kids to engage in independently. Whatever the activity, encourage your students to think, create, and problem solve, even when on vacation.

Thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Travis Boeh
