(Missing practice can result in a loss of playing time.) 3) Show evidence of a solid work ethic, promote positive sportsmanship and respect toward coaches, teammates, parents, officials, teachers, and visiting schools. 4) Maintain passing grades in a minimum of 4 of 6 classes. | ***EQUAL OPPORTUNITY-EQUAL PLAYING TIMEThe Vancouver School system operates under a "no-cut" policy. Any athlete turning out for a sport is guaranteed to make a team. In volleyball, basketball, and wrestling we have a "varsity" team. However, we have numerous "junior varsity" teams that compete interscholastically and receive as many playing contests as the varsity. All student athletes who are making every practice, maintaining academic standards, and behaving appropriately in their sport and within the school will receive "equal" playing time. Athletes who do not attend practice regularly, are not keeping up their grades, and/or are acting inappropriately within the classroom or on their team, will be subject to loss of playing time. Continual behavioral issues or severe Vancouver School District policy infractions may lead to an athlete's removal from the team for the remainder of the season. Ms.Griffiths, McLoughlin's athletic director, will make that determination upon investigation of the incident(s). You may reach Ms. Griffith's email by clicking HERE. |
